Your organization’s records may be worth more than its next grant.
AI companies now pay to license copies of how organizations work. We find out whether yours qualifies and get you the best offer. Free to start.
Request a free reviewHow it works
- Tell us about your organization. Five minutes. No documents, no data.
- We tell you whether you qualify. In writing, including no.
- You decide what stays out, with your counsel. Records about the people you serve, donors and funders are out unless your counsel says otherwise.
- We take you to buyers. More than one where we can. You compare offers, you sign. We never receive your data.
Who qualifies
Likely
- US-based, working in English
- About 10 or more staff; some buyers want 30 or more
- Five or more years of digital records
- Documented ways of working in tools like Google Workspace, Slack or Salesforce
Worth a conversation
- Fiscal sponsors and networks with many member organizations
- Organizations that have closed or merged and still hold their archives
- Grantmakers asking what this means for grantees
Not yet
- Under 10 staff and not part of a network
- Records mostly on paper
- Archives that are mostly other people’s confidential work
What stays protected
Never licensed without your counsel’s sign-off
- Records about the people you serve
- Donor and funder records
- Partners’ confidential work
- Anything privileged or under legal hold
You control
- Which folders, mailboxes and tools are included
- Who may use the copy, and whether it is exclusive
- When the copy is deleted
- Whether to go ahead at all
We
- Work for you, not the buyer
- Never receive, store or see your data
- Give information, not legal advice
Questions
Why would an AI company want a nonprofit’s records?
They are training AI to do office work and have run out of public examples. How a case gets managed or a grant gets reported is not written down anywhere public.
What does it cost?
Nothing to find out whether you qualify. If you sign a deal we brought you, our fee is 10% of what you are paid, with a $10,000 minimum. Anything the buyer pays us for the introduction counts against it, and we show you their terms. You pay only at close.
Is this safe for the people we serve?
Only if their records stay out. That is your decision with counsel, made before any buyer sees anything.
We are small. Is there any point?
Maybe. Buyers price by staff count and years of records, so one small organization rarely qualifies alone. Ask; we will tell you.
Who are the buyers?
A few AI data companies that license records to AI labs. We name them once we know your situation.
How long does it take?
A buyer’s process has run two to four weeks after signing, plus your own scoping and counsel review.
